Grammar for Grownups QuizWhat do you consider the five worst grammar gaffs? Here are mine: 1. The overuse of the word "got". (I got a new sweater. She got shoes.) 2. The use of "go" to mean "say". (He goes, "Hiya;" I go, "Get lost!") 3. The misuse of "between" and "among". (Just between you and I, those three had no money between them. Worse: Just between me and you...) 4. The misplacement of the apostrophe - sometimes called the Grocer's Apostrophe. (Apple's for sale. Given it's intent, its a nuisance law.) 5. Improper verb. (There's five times as many boys as girls. The team made up of nine women schedule its games in the afternoon.) Okay - there are six grammar gaffs that get my goat! 6. Misuse of pronouns indicating gender. (He/she - or (s)he - requires a name tag.) Click here for my answers.
